Neil Cassidy
Head Coach
Neil Cassidy is in his second season in charge of the Thunder, having guided the team to a 5-9-2 record in its inaugural season. For the last eight years, Cassidy has served as the Director of Coaching for the Rochester Youth Soccer Association. He is also a member of the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association's coaching and instructional staff and a staff coach for the Region II Olympic Development Program.
In addition, he served as assistant coach for the men's soccer program at St. Mary's University from 2003-2005 and he is currently the assistant coach for the Carleton College women's soccer team, which reached the NCAA Division III women's soccer Elite Eight in 2008. His previous soccer experience includes serving as Football (soccer) development officer for Oldham Borough Council (England), working for the Stockport County (England) Center of Excellence and serving as a club community coach for Coventry City Football (England).
Cassidy's coaching credentials include the UEFA "B" License, USSF "A" License, NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma and KNVB advanced tactical diploma. Cassidy played goalkeeper semi-professionally in England. He grew up in Manchester, England, so we'll give you one guess who his favorite professional team is - and they don't wear blue!
